About the role#
Associated Electric Cooperative Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. This full-time position is based on-site at the Thomas Hill Power Plant in Clifton Hill, Missouri. You will work Monday through Friday to gain hands-on experience in the power industry.
What you'll do#
- Execute engineering projects to improve the reliability of the coal and gas plant fleet.
- Analyze equipment failure mechanisms and create strategies for preventative maintenance.
- Assist with testing coordination, data collection, report reviews, and contractor bid evaluations.
- Support power plant improvement initiatives, including maintenance evaluations.
- Manage smaller-scale outage projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Mechanical Engineering student.
- Completion of at least two years toward a Bachelor of Science degree.
- Punctuality and reliable attendance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD is preferred.
