Fall 2026 Water/Wastewater Engineering Co-Op/Intern

About the role#

This Fall 2026 co-op/internship position focuses on the planning, design, and construction administration of water, wastewater, and stormwater projects. You will support the design and engineering teams on tasks ranging from facilities planning and permitting to the development of construction documents. Projects may involve treatment plants, pumping systems, pipelines, green infrastructure, and flood protection.

What you'll do#

• Contribute to water, wastewater, and stormwater treatment and conveyance projects.
• Conduct site visits and observe construction activities.
• Collect samples, analyze water quality data, and evaluate plant technologies and operations.
• Troubleshoot and optimize facility processes.
• Perform condition assessments and overall performance evaluations of infrastructure.
• Prepare and deliver presentations, participate in client meetings, and interact with clients and subcontractors in the field.
• Manage multiple assignments simultaneously using analytical and problem-solving skills.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a degree-seeking program for Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Prior relevant internship experience.
• Ability to exercise judgment on engineering alternatives and work details.
• Strong organizational, communication, and team-oriented skills.

Location & details#

• This position is based in Clifton Park, New York.
• The role is on-site; candidates must live within a commutable distance as relocation and housing assistance are not provided.
• This is a paid, full-time internship for the Fall 2026 term.
