About the role#
Arcadis is seeking a Biologist Intern or Co-op to join our Ecological Services team in Waterloo, Ontario. This position is for a Winter 2027 term. You will work alongside experienced biologists and environmental professionals to support ecological assessments, environmental permitting, and field-based data collection. This role offers exposure to multidisciplinary projects and helps build a foundation in applied ecology and environmental consulting.
What you'll do#
- Assist with terrestrial and aquatic field surveys, including flora and fauna inventories and habitat assessments.
- Support data collection efforts using GPS equipment and mobile field applications.
- Conduct desktop research and literature reviews to support environmental assessments.
- Assist with the preparation of technical reports and environmental documentation.
- Collaborate with biologists, environmental scientists, planners, and engineers on multidisciplinary projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, or a related field.
- Strong interest in terrestrial and aquatic ecology and environmental consulting.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and technical writing skills.
- Willingness to conduct fieldwork in various terrain and weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to project sites.
