Arcadis is seeking a Roadway Design Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This position provides an opportunity to work within our Design & Engineering teams, receiving mentorship and training from technical experts in roadway transportation design.
What you'll do#
- Prepare conceptual designs and construction plans using OpenRoads software.
- Create engineering designs focused on highway and street geometry, as well as drainage design including hydrology and hydraulics.
- Complete construction engineering and inspection tasks.
- Assist with the development of transportation planning reports, roadway safety studies, and various traffic engineering projects.
- Collect traffic and highway field data using MicroStation and related design software.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- Preferred: EIT Certification.
- Experience using OpenRoads software.
- A basic understanding of geometric and traffic operations principles, including AASHTO, MUTCD, and state DOT requirements and policies.
