About the role#
Arcadis is hiring a Roadway Design Intern for the Fall 2026 term. You will work within our Design and Engineering teams in Nashville to support transportation projects. This is a paid, full-time position where you will receive mentorship and training from technical experts in roadway transportation design.
What you'll do#
- Prepare conceptual designs and construction plans using OpenRoads software.
- Create engineering designs for highways and streets, including geometric and drainage design.
- Perform construction engineering and inspection tasks.
- Assist with the completion of transportation planning reports, roadway safety studies, and traffic engineering projects.
- Collect traffic and highway field data using MicroStation and related office software.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- Basic understanding of geometric and traffic operations principles, including AASHTO, MUTCD, and state DOT requirements.
- Experience using OpenRoads software.
- EIT Certification is preferred.
