About the role#
Arcadis is seeking a Water Engineer Intern to join the Water Business Line in Middletown, Connecticut. This position offers hands-on experience in the evaluation, planning, and design of water, wastewater, and stormwater projects, including pipelines and pumping facilities. You will contribute to sustainability and resilience initiatives, such as vulnerability assessments and utility planning, while working both independently and with teams across the country.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate, plan, and design infrastructure for water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
- Conduct fieldwork, including site visits, water sampling, and quality analyses.
- Troubleshoot processes and gather plant operations data to support system optimization.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for client meetings.
- Ensure all project work complies with quality, health, and safety standards.
- Utilize digital tools such as BIM and Power BI to support project delivery and collaboration.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Environmental, Water Resources, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Availability of 16 to 20 hours per week during the fall 2026 semester (August through December).
- Knowledge of engineering concepts and practices related to water, wastewater, and stormwater.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
