About the role#
Arcadis is seeking a Water Engineer Intern to join the Water Business Line in Middletown, CT, for the Fall 2026 semester. This role offers hands-on experience in the evaluation, planning, design, and management of water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects. Interns will work on treatment and conveyance systems, including pipelines and pumping facilities, while supporting sustainability and resilience initiatives for utility and municipal clients.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate, plan, design, and support the management of water, wastewater, and stormwater projects.
- Conduct site visits, perform sampling, and execute water quality analyses.
- Troubleshoot processes, evaluate technologies, and gather plant operations data to optimize systems.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and project materials while participating in client meetings.
- Ensure all project work complies with quality, health, and safety standards.
- Utilize digital tools including BIM, Power BI, and SharePoint to support project delivery and collaboration.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a BS degree in Civil, Environmental, Water Resources, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Availability to work 16 to 20 hours per week during the fall semester from August through December 2026.
- Foundational knowledge of engineering concepts related to water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high attention to detail and professional communication abilities.
