About the role#
The Student Manager role at Arizona State University involves supervising and training staff within our food operations. You will manage daily activities to ensure food is prepared and served according to our quality and safety standards. This role requires a balance of administrative tasks and hands-on floor work, including filling in for absent employees when necessary.
What you'll do#
- Create and manage staff schedules.
- Direct daily operations and supervise team members.
- Evaluate employee performance and mentor staff to build teamwork.
- Maintain accurate weekly inventory levels and prepare orders.
- Keep the workspace clean and hazard-free according to health codes.
- Track equipment maintenance and perform regular checklists.
- Manage catering event preparation and delivery schedules.
- Perform cashier duties as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a student at this location.
- Ability to read, write, and follow verbal instructions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic.
- Ability to remain calm and maintain emotional control under stress.
- Must complete a sanitation course during your first year.
- Ability to work occasional nights and weekends for catered events.
