About the role#
We are hiring student workers for food service and catering roles at West Texas A&M University. This position offers an opportunity to gain experience in a campus environment while building skills in food preparation, safety, and customer service.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items using standardized recipes and directions.
- Set up workstations, including prep tables, service counters, hot wells, and steam tables.
- Properly store food according to established standards.
- Break down, clean, and sanitize workstations.
- Serve food to customers and ensure their needs are met.
- Replenish and stock food items to appropriate levels.
- Maintain a positive demeanor and provide service to guests and co-workers.
- Adhere to safety policies, including food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Ensure the security of company assets.
What you'll need#
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- Must have or acquire a food safety certification.
- Ability to demonstrate guest service skills.
- Comfort with physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing.
- Willingness to wear uniforms or use personal protective equipment as required.
