About the role#
As a Student Worker - Barista, you will provide service and quality beverages to customers at Auburn University Dining. This role involves managing transactions, preparing drinks to brand standards, and ensuring the coffee bar remains clean and organized.
What you'll do#
- Operate the register and handle cash or credit card transactions.
- Greet customers and assist with their needs.
- Prepare coffees, teas, and specialty beverages following specific recipes.
- Balance the cash drawer, complete cashier slips, and manage deposits.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and stocked work area, including beverage coolers and condiment stations.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
What you'll need#
- Basic math and counting skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to read and communicate in English.
- Completion of Food Handling Certification as required.
- Physical ability to perform tasks like lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.
- Previous experience in customer service, cash handling, or as a barista is preferred.
