About the role#
This internship offers hands-on experience within the Sales, Revenue Management, Events, and Marketing departments at Highgate. You will work with professional teams to support daily hotel operations, manage guest inquiries, and organize sales information. This role provides an introduction to the business side of hospitality and the systems used to drive hotel performance.
What you'll do#
- Answer telephone and email messages.
- Greet guests, clients, and employees.
- Support the smooth operation of the office.
- Distribute BEO daily change logs, resumes, site events, and event guarantees.
- Process inquiries and distribute them to the appropriate teams.
- Use industry software including Delphi FDC and Opera.
- Attend required meetings and training sessions.
- Stay updated on current computer programs and innovations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in college coursework related to Business Administration or Marketing.
- At least one year of experience in a hotel or related field is preferred.
- Must reside in the Seattle area.
- Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
- Strong listening skills to understand and clarify concerns from guests and staff.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Commitment to maintaining professional appearance and Highgate Hotel standards.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and show initiative in anticipating operational needs.
- Willingness to cross-train in other hotel departments.
