About the role#
The Sales & Marketing Intern will gain hands-on exposure to the operations of a hotel Sales, Revenue Management, Events, and Marketing teams. You will work alongside hospitality professionals to manage inquiries, communicate with clients, and support event organization. This role provides an introduction to the business side of hospitality and the systems used to drive hotel performance.
What you'll do#
- Answer telephone and email messages.
- Greet guests, clients, and employees.
- Assist in the smooth operation of the office.
- Distribute BEO daily change logs, resumes, site events, and event guarantees.
- Use industry systems including Delphi FDC and Opera.
- Take and distribute inquiries.
- Attend meetings and training sessions as required by management.
- Stay current with computer programs and office innovations.
What you'll need#
- College course work in a related field.
- One year of experience in a hotel or related field is preferred.
- Must reside in the Denver market.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Skill in listening to and clarifying concerns from guests and employees.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Initiative to anticipate guest or operational needs.
- Willingness to cross-train in other hotel areas.
- Adherence to Highgate Hotel standards regarding attendance, personal appearance, and grooming.
