About the role#
The Sales & Marketing Intern will gain hands-on experience in the business side of hospitality. You will work with the Sales, Revenue Management, Events, and Marketing teams to support daily operations. This role provides exposure to how these departments generate business and support hotel performance. You will work alongside hospitality professionals to manage inquiries, communicate with guests, and keep sales and event information organized.
What you'll do#
- Answer telephone and email inquiries and respond accordingly.
- Support the smooth operation of the office.
- Greet guests, clients, and employees.
- Distribute BEOs, daily change logs, resumes, site events, and event guarantees.
- Use industry systems including Delphi FDC and Opera.
- Attend meetings and training sessions as required by management.
- Stay current with relevant computer programs and innovations.
What you'll need#
- College course work in a related field.
- One year of experience in a hotel or related field is preferred.
- You must reside in the Philadelphia market.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms.
- Skill in listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns from guests and employees.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to cross-train in other hotel areas.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and show initiative in anticipating operational needs.
- High standards of personal appearance and grooming.
- Commitment to comply with hotel standards and safety regulations.
