About the role#
The Sales & Marketing Intern will gain hands-on exposure to the day-to-day operations of a hotel’s Sales, Revenue Management, Events, and Marketing teams. You will work alongside hospitality professionals to learn how these departments collaborate to generate business and support hotel performance. This role provides an introduction to hotel operations and the various career paths within the industry.
What you'll do#
- Answer telephone and email inquiries and distribute them to the appropriate teams.
- Greet guests, clients, and employees.
- Support office operations and maintain awareness of current computer programs and innovations.
- Manage the distribution of BEO daily change logs, resumes, site events, and event guarantees.
- Work directly with industry systems including Delphi FDC and Opera.
- Attend meetings and training sessions as required by management.
What you'll need#
- Current college course work in Business Administration, Marketing, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Strong listening skills to understand and clarify concerns from guests and employees.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Must reside in the market.
- One year of experience in a hotel or related field is preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, show initiative, and cross-train in other hotel areas.
- Adherence to Highgate Hotel standards regarding attendance, personal appearance, and grooming.
