About the role#
The Student Hospitality Manager role is part of the Student Hospitality Management Program. This program provides hands-on experience in hospitality operations to help you build leadership, customer service, and business skills. You will work with a mentor and the management team throughout the academic year to gain insight into residential dining, retail, catering, and concessions. This is a paid, on-site position based in Tempe, Arizona.
What you'll do#
- Gain exposure to daily operational processes, including opening and closing procedures and food preparation.
- Support your mentor and the management team with staffing, product quality, and guest satisfaction.
- Assist with staff training activities and observe different leadership approaches.
- Contribute to special projects such as marketing events, sustainability initiatives, and client engagement.
- Develop skills in communication, problem-solving, and team leadership through practical assignments.
- Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety standards.
- Complete monthly program milestones and attend scheduled training sessions.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current Arizona State University undergraduate student with sophomore standing or higher.
- Strong interest in hospitality management and leadership.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work in a busy environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for up to 6 hours.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Human Resources, Civil Engineering, Logistics, Communications, Psychology, Public Health, and Marketing.
Location & details#
- Location: Tempe, Arizona.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Commitment: One academic year, including evening and weekend shifts as required.
