About the role#
As a General Utility Worker at the Florida State University Student Union, you will help maintain a clean and functional kitchen environment. This role focuses on the sanitation of equipment and utensils to support our daily service. It is a full-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Clean and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, silverware, glasses, and kitchen utensils.
- Keep the dishwashing station and three-compartment sink areas clean.
- Check that equipment is in working condition and report any issues to management.
- Perform light maintenance and custodial tasks as needed.
- Provide helpful service and maintain a positive attitude toward guests, clients, and coworkers.
- Follow safety policies, including proper handling of food and chemicals.
- Ensure the security of company assets.
What you'll need#
- Understanding of basic sanitation procedures.
- Ability to follow safety protocols when handling hazardous chemicals.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to handle physical demands like lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking.
- Willingness to wear a uniform or use personal protective equipment.
