About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2026 term. You will work on-site at the University of Nebraska to support concessions operations. This role focuses on daily food service oversight, including inventory management, food preparation, and maintaining safety standards.
What you'll do#
- Schedule and assign daily work tasks to the food service team.
- Train and guide staff on job duties and food safety procedures.
- Prepare and build food items following standardized recipes.
- Maintain high levels of customer service and a positive attitude toward guests.
- Ensure the security of company assets.
- Set up, break down, and sanitize work stations.
- Replenish food items and maintain stock levels.
What you'll need#
- Previous food service experience is required.
- Previous supervisory experience in a related role is preferred.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to acquire food safety certification.
- Majors in Business Administration, Marketing, Health Administration, Civil Engineering, Sociology, Psychology, Nutrition, or Kinesiology are welcome.
- Ability to meet physical demands like lifting, bending, and extended periods of standing or walking.
