About the role#
This co-op position offers engineering students hands-on experience within the Bison business unit. You will work on actual engineering projects, including the design and production of motors, blowers, pumps, and motor drives. We tailor each co-op block to match business needs with your individual career interests.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with experienced engineers to design, test, and validate new products and components.
- Build and document the electro-mechanical performance of motors, gearmotors, blowers, drives, software, and circuitry.
- Run tests, analyze the resulting data, and provide formal report-outs with your recommendations.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited Engineering degree program, specifically Mechanical, Computer, or Electrical Engineering.
- Sophomore standing or higher.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email.
- Familiarity with or willingness to use AI tools for productivity and decision-making.
- Ability to read assembly prints for motors and gearmotors.
- Experience setting up and tearing down mechanical or electrical test equipment.
- Ability to work in a laboratory setting.
- Interest in embedded systems programming or PCB design is a plus.
- Motivation and an inquisitive approach to problem-solving.
