About the role#
This co-op position offers engineering students a chance to gain experience on active projects within the Bison business unit. You will work on the design and production of motors, blowers, pumps, and motor drives. You will work both independently and in small teams to support engineering functions. Each co-op block is tailored to match business needs with your career interests.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with experienced engineers to design, test, document, and validate new components.
- Build and validate the electro-mechanical performance of motors, gearmotors, blowers, drives, software, and circuitry.
- Conduct tests, analyze the resulting data, and provide formal report-outs on your findings.
- Support the development of technical documentation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university engineering program, specifically Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a similar major.
- Sophomore status or higher with a 3.0 GPA or better.
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email.
- Ability to set up and tear down mechanical and electrical test equipment in a laboratory environment.
- Capacity to read assembly prints for the assembly and disassembly of motors and gearmotors.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI tools, identify appropriate use cases, and critically evaluate outputs.
- Interest or knowledge in embedded systems programming or PCB design is a plus.
- An energetic, inquisitive, and motivated mindset.
