About the role#
The Electronics Hardware Systems Engineering Co-Op supports the development of electronic control-based systems. You will work within the Advanced Technology Integration department to assist in the design, testing, and validation of products for the Water Heating and Air Conditioning Systems teams. This position is a co-op role spanning 3 to 5 terms.
What you'll do#
- Participate in new product development activities.
- Research communication protocols and apply them to products.
- Plan and execute specific parts of a product development project.
- Help create new control algorithms.
- Collaborate with the design team to define and gain approval for controls requirements.
- Assist in developing and testing proof-of-concept control electronics and software.
- Create testing requirements and document results for proof-of-concept controls.
- Present progress updates on controls development to engineering and management teams.
- Research technologies for potential use in future controls.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Interest or experience in product design.
- Experience or interest in programming embedded microprocessors.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, electronics, and programming principles.
- Ability to plan work tasks.
- Willingness to write reports and specifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.

- Location: Indianapolis, Indiana.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Commitment: 40 hours per week.
- Status: Paid, full-time.
