About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Electrical Controls Co-Op position based in Hershey, Pennsylvania. You will work within the Controls Engineering department on projects involving electrical design, equipment installation, and maintenance support. The role offers the potential for multiple rotations, with openings available for Winter, Summer, and Fall 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist with electrical design, equipment installation, system checkout, and project startups.
- Develop electrical elementary drawings and write PLC programs.
- Build HMI screens and commission VFD and Motion Control systems.
- Observe plant processes to make recommendations and troubleshoot systems alongside operators and supervisors.
- Research new technologies for use in production environments.
- Coordinate with vendors, select equipment, and train manufacturing personnel.
What you'll need#
- Sophomore or junior status in a Bachelor of Science program for Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.
- Completed coursework in Electrical Theory, Electronics, and Electrical Design.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting experience and proficiency with instruments like digital multimeters, current probes, and signal calibrators.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work well with others, stay organized, take initiative, and remain flexible.
- Willingness to travel.
