About the role#
As an Environmental Health and Safety Intern, you will work with a business unit to help them reach their safety and environmental targets. This position is based in Hershey, Pennsylvania. You will gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting, focusing on hazard identification and regulatory compliance.
What you'll do#
- Inspect the work environment for biological, chemical, and physical hazards.
- Recommend corrective actions and protective equipment to improve worker safety.
- Help interpret OSHA regulations and maintain a positive relationship with the agency.
- Develop and lead safety training sessions for staff and supervisors.
- Provide technical support for new processes, equipment, and facility changes.
- Conduct compliance audits and regulatory reviews.
- Manage and update safety and environmental policy documents.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a bachelor degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
- No prior professional safety or environmental experience is required.
- You have strong computer skills and are detail oriented.
- You work well within a team environment.
- You have a basic understanding of programs related to Powered Industrial Trucks, material handling, and injury reporting metrics like LTI and TRI.
- Strong communication and people skills are preferred.

- Modality: This is an on-site, full-time internship.
- Terms: Available for Winter 2027, Summer 2027, or Fall 2027.
