About the role#
This is a full-time co-op position based in Hershey, Pennsylvania for the Summer 2027 term. You will work within the Controls Engineering department, with the potential for successive rotations depending on your availability and school schedule. This role involves hands-on project work, troubleshooting, and collaboration across engineering teams.
What you'll do#
- Support electrical design, equipment installation, and project startups.
- Develop electrical elementary drawings and write PLC programs.
- Create HMI screens and commission VFD or motion control systems.
- Observe plant processes to make improvement recommendations.
- Troubleshoot existing systems alongside plant operators and supervisors.
- Research new technologies for use in production environments.
- Select and set up equipment and instruments.
- Coordinate with vendors and train manufacturing personnel.
- Collaborate with process, packaging, quality, and industrial engineering teams.
What you'll need#
- Current sophomore or junior status in a Bachelor of Science program for Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.
- Completed introductory coursework in Electrical Theory, Electronics, and Electrical Design.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting experience.
- Proficiency with digital multimeters, current probes, and signal calibrators.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to travel, including potential international travel.
