About the role#
As an Electrical Engineering intern at Nucor Tubular Products in Decatur, you will work alongside an engineering mentor to execute continuous improvement projects. You will collaborate with maintenance and production teams to support various engineering tasks throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Design and implement new systems while modifying existing equipment.
- Improve current production and maintenance processes.
- Maintain accurate documentation for all project improvements.
- Provide technical support for electrical, automation, and network systems.
- Conduct failure analysis and troubleshooting.
- Partner with other departments to complete project goals.
- Lead and uphold safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year degree program for Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- A minimum collegiate GPA of 3.0.
- Ability to generate and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, 2D/3D CAD, or equivalent modeling software.
- Familiarity with SCADA or historical data analysis for root cause analysis.
