About the role#
Nucor Steel Brandenburg is hiring an intern or co-op for the Winter and Summer 2027 terms. This role supports the production of steel plate through data analysis, quality assurance, and collaboration across the mill. You will work on-site in Brandenburg, Kentucky.
What you'll do#
- Compile and analyze data related to mechanical testing and chemical composition.
- Verify that materials meet customer and society specifications.
- Assist with metallographic preparation and analysis.
- Organize and maintain technical documentation.
- Support problem-solving efforts throughout the steel production process.
- Uphold and lead safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate or non-thesis graduate program.
- Majors in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Science.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
- Genuine interest in metallurgy and materials science.
- U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency status.
