About the role#
Nucor Warehouse Systems is hiring a Design Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Monroe, Georgia. You will gain hands-on experience in a consulting engineering environment while working alongside designers and detailers.
What you'll do#
- Support the design team by reviewing drawing standards, install sets, permit sets, and fabrication drawings.
- Collaborate with designers and detailers to review client drawings.
- Draft various drawings for clients and learn to interpret them.
- Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program at a four-year college or university.
- Interest in design, CAD drafting, or a relevant discipline.
- Interest in design software such as AutoCAD and Inventor.
- A record of maintaining high grades in your studies.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer sponsorship.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Inventor is preferred.
- Ability to understand fabrication, construction, or architectural drawings is preferred.
