About the role#
Nucor Steel Brandenburg is hiring an Environmental Engineer Intern for the summer of 2027. This full-time, paid position offers hands-on experience within an industrial setting. You will work directly with the Environmental Department to maintain safety standards and support ongoing operations.
What you'll do#
- Support water treatment operations and troubleshoot water chemistry projects.
- Assist with stormwater management and air emission management.
- Work with Baghouse systems and manage pollution control devices.
- Contribute to sustainability projects and the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
- Collaborate with teammates across the department on daily environmental tasks.
- Lead and uphold safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university program studying Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- A minimum cumulative college GPA of 2.75.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
