About the role#
Nucor Warehouse Systems is looking for an Engineering Intern to join our team in Monroe, Georgia, for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position. You will work alongside our engineers and designers to gain hands-on experience in a consulting engineering environment.
What you'll do#
- Support the engineering team by reviewing engineering standards, preliminary and final designs, and structural calculations.
- Assist in the creation of spreadsheets and internal tools.
- Review install sets, permit sets, and fabrication drawings.
- Run structural calculations and develop engineering solutions for our clients.
- Collaborate with team members to understand the reasoning behind structural designs.
- Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering degree program with high academic standing.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Monroe, GA.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Interest in structural engineering, specifically for Civil Engineering students.
- Completed or current coursework in Structural Mechanics and Structural Analysis.
- Experience or coursework with structural calculations, engineering analysis software, or design tools like Inventor and SolidWorks.
- Ability to interpret fabrication, construction, or architectural drawings.
