About the role#
This internship program offers a hands-on introduction to the scrap metal recycling industry. You will rotate through various functions including operations, logistics, and commercial sales. The goal is to provide a comprehensive look at how a recycling facility runs from the ground up.
What you'll do#
- Participate in daily safety meetings and maintain operational standards.
- Learn the fundamentals of scrap metal identification, quality control, and inventory management.
- Support facility operations, including material receiving and coordinating inbound and outbound shipments.
- Shadow commercial team members during visits with suppliers and customers.
- Assist with market research, prospect identification, and sales preparation.
- Complete a business project over the summer and present your recommendations to division leadership.
What you'll need#
- You are a rising junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Management.
- You have strong organizational skills and work well in a team environment.
- You communicate clearly and adapt to new situations.
- You have reliable transportation and are willing to travel frequently.
- You are comfortable working outdoors in an industrial setting, regardless of weather conditions.
