About the role#
WSP is seeking an Electrical Engineering Co-op to join our Property & Buildings team in Philadelphia. This full-time position is for students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at Drexel University. You will work alongside senior staff on projects across the infrastructure, commercial, higher education, science, and technology sectors. This role is scheduled for the Winter and Summer 2027 terms, specifically from March 29th to August 20th.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering tasks to build your technical and professional skills.
- Learn principles of power distribution, lighting design, and low-voltage systems.
- Interpret building plans and electrical diagrams.
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
- Use Autodesk Revit to model electrical, lighting, and low-voltage components.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on drawings and specifications.
- Travel to job sites to survey buildings and review construction progress.
- Maintain project documentation and complete assigned training.
- Follow company policies and maintain ethical decision-making standards.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related program at Drexel University.
- Anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
- Demonstrated interest in electrical engineering and a desire to advance your skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to take direction from leadership.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- A track record of upholding workplace safety and compliance with company policies.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit is preferred.
- Prior internship or campus leadership experience is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $23.90 to $31.11 per hour.
