About the role#
As a Maintenance Intern focused on electrical systems, you will work hands-on with maintenance craftsmen to apply your technical training in an industrial setting. You will support maintenance, engineering, and production teams by participating in an On-the-Job Training plan. This role focuses on the troubleshooting, startup, and commissioning of plant assets to ensure safe and reliable production.
What you'll do#
- Assist with machine rebuilding, equipment installation, and print reading.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and daily equipment inspections.
- Monitor machine operational performance to control downtime.
- Locate sources of problems by observing devices in operation and using testing instruments.
- Remove and replace defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand or power tools.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following all procedures and rules.
- Perform assigned tasks efficiently while supporting plant operations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment at an accredited university, college, or trade school.
- Pursuit of at least a two-year technical degree in Electrical Maintenance or a related field.
- Completion of the first year of core technical courses.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
- Availability to work at least 20 hours per week beginning in Summer 2027.
- Ability to work in a production-oriented environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and make decisions.
