About the role#
The Electrical Engineer Co-op supports engineering activities to meet plant goals for safety, quality, delivery, and cost. You will work alongside the engineering team to troubleshoot existing electrical designs and assist with new product implementation.
What you'll do#
- Develop and sustain printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) for new and existing medical devices.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Procurement, and suppliers to create and update electronic testing fixtures and procedures.
- Assist in developing and maintaining parts libraries for PCBA development software.
- Perform PCBA and medical device troubleshooting down to the component level.
- Support project leads with new product implementation and process improvements.
- Develop, review, and approve engineering change orders (ECOs).
- Document and lead product pilot runs and validations.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts using methods like CAPA or Six Sigma.
- Support 5S efforts, lean activities, and daily manufacturing problem-solving.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an Electrical Engineering program at an accredited college or university for at least two years.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Experience with PCBA design software such as Altium is a plus.
- Familiarity with electrical hardware design, troubleshooting, and repair is a plus.
