About the role#
The Corporate Communications team manages internal messaging for over 20,000 employees and financial advisors. We also handle public relations, shareholder communications, and corporate events. You will work with business partners across the company to craft and deliver messages through intranets, websites, presentations, speeches, and videos.
What you'll do#
- Write, edit, and proofread communications for financial advisors and employees.
- Create content for the Ameriprise newsroom, including feature stories and commentary.
- Research and conduct interviews on current industry trends.
- Help the team develop communication strategies.
- Prepare spokespeople, including senior leaders and financial advisors, for media engagements.
- Develop targeted media pitches for consumer and trade publications.
- Participate in calls with public relations agencies.
- Assist with media outreach efforts in local markets.
What you'll need#
- Current Junior status at a 4-year university.
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
- Graduation date of December 2027 or May/June 2028.
- Strong integrity, ethics, and self-motivation.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Proven organization and time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and constructively with others.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of AI productivity tools.
- Valid work authorization that does not require sponsorship.

- Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (in-office at least four days per week).
- Employment Type: Full-time.
- Compensation: $27 per hour.
