    About the role#

    The Public Relations & Communications team is seeking a student to support corporate communications, media relations, executive communications, and reputation management. This internship provides hands-on experience within a corporate communications function at a financial services organization. You will work alongside communications professionals and business partners to contribute to high-profile campaigns, strategic announcements, and thought leadership initiatives.

    What you'll do#

    • Monitor brand, campaign, and competitor coverage using Meltwater and organize data for reporting.
    • Draft first-pass summaries, slides, internal updates, and corporate LinkedIn copy.
    • Support the bi-weekly media coverage newsletter and prepare quarterly media reports.
    • Coordinate with Marketing, Legal, and Compliance teams to manage approvals and track project timelines.
    • Maintain run-of-show documents, meeting notes, and action item trackers.
    • Assist with media list development, research journalists, and identify media trends.
    • Support executive briefing notes with background research and coverage.
    • Provide first-pass edits on sponsored content drafts and consolidate stakeholder feedback.
    • Format slide decks to align with brand templates and prepare visual asset briefs.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a degree or diploma in PR, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or English.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint and Excel.
    • Strong grasp of grammar, clarity, and attention to detail.
    • Ability to write concise summaries and social media copy.
    • Interest in business, media, current events, and communications.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and follow-ups independently.
    • Familiarity with Canadian Press style, Meltwater, or AI agents is an asset.
    • Professionalism and comfort interacting with stakeholders across the organization.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
    • Term: Winter 2027 (January to April).
    • Work Modality: Hybrid (in-office at least three days a week).
    • Status: Full-time internship.
    • Compensation: This is a paid position.
