About the role#
The Kogod School of Business is looking for a student videographer and editor to join our creative team. You will work under the supervision of the Senior Designer to produce audio-visual content for the school website, social media, and promotional campaigns. This is a part-time position requiring 10 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Create and edit videos, animations, and graphics for digital campaigns and events.
- Manage video projects from initial edit through final review.
- Operate Sony cameras and equipment to film events and interviews.
- Support faculty, staff, and student groups with their video production needs.
- Research trends and techniques relevant to higher education media.
- Ensure all content meets brand guidelines and accessibility standards, including closed captioning.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at American University with a valid email account and good academic standing.
- A portfolio of video or media work showcasing your filming and editing skills.
- Experience or a strong interest in multimedia storytelling.
- Proficiency in or a willingness to learn Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical challenges and pay close attention to detail.
- A flexible approach to work, including the ability to collaborate in a team or work independently.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and work with diverse populations.

- Location: Main Campus, Washington, DC.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $18.40 to $20.00 per hour.
- Schedule: Part-time, 10 hours per week.
