About the role#
Cyber Florida at USF is hiring a student assistant to support the Outreach and Marketing team. This role involves creating multimedia content to raise awareness about cybersecurity. You will work on real-world projects for the web and social media.
What you'll do#
- Plan, record, edit, and publish short-form videos for YouTube, the web, and social media.
- Collaborate with team members on larger video projects.
- Attend events to secure video footage as your schedule allows.
- Research and suggest trends or best practices for content creation.
- Handle other duties as assigned to support the goals of the Florida Center for Cybersecurity.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current USF student with general computer proficiency, including MS Office.
- Experience editing video in Adobe Premiere Pro and synchronizing audio.
- Understanding of camera settings, framing, and shot composition using DSLR or mirrorless cameras.
- Ability to pace and structure stories for long-form and short-form content.
- Experience shooting b-roll, interviews, and live events.
- Basic motion graphics skills, such as captions, lower-thirds, and simple animations.
- Strong organizational skills for media and project management.
- An interest in technology, cybersecurity, or digital storytelling.
- Experience creating content for YouTube, podcasts, or social media.
- Availability for occasional evening or weekend events.
- Preferred: Experience with Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, or Illustrator, and familiarity with multi-camera or podcast workflows.
Location & details#
- Location: Tampa, Florida.
- Schedule: Flexible, 15 to 20 hours per week.
- Salary: $15.00 to $20.00 per hour.
- This position may require a criminal background check.
