About the role#
The RecFit Ambassador acts as a representative for the department by promoting programs, events, and services to the campus community. This position focuses on outreach, event support, and digital engagement to increase student participation and awareness of recreational opportunities.
What you'll do#
- Promote RecFit programs and services to students, parents, and other individuals.
- Staff in-person and virtual events, including Late Night at the Rec, New Eagle Day, and Preview Day.
- Assist with tabling at departmental and campus events.
- Participate in social media campaigns to share gym information and program updates.
- Lead tours of the fitness centers for prospective members.
- Maintain a professional and respectful environment for students, staff, and campus partners.
- Attend all scheduled shifts and staff training sessions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a sophomore, junior, or senior at American University.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends.
- Experience with social media platforms and content creation is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: American University, Washington, DC.
- Modality: On-site.
- Hours: Part-time, 5 to 10 hours per week.
- Compensation: $18.40 per hour.
- Status: This position is open only to currently enrolled American University students.
