About the role#
The Federal Work Study Esports Video Editor/Photographer position provides hands-on experience in photography, videography, and post-production. You will report to the Esports Director and support the creation of visual assets for ArtU Esports. This role is based on-site at our San Francisco campus.
What you'll do#
- Capture and edit photos and videos during matches, tournaments, and other program events.
- Produce short-form video content, event recaps, highlights, and promotional pieces.
- Edit and polish photos for social media, program communications, and promotional materials.
- Collaborate with Broadcast Talent, Production Support, and Graphic Designers to create recurring social content.
- Organize and maintain a library of photo and video assets for use by the wider team.
- Participate in creative reviews and apply feedback from the Esports Director.
- Learn and apply techniques in color correction, photo retouching, and media organization.
What you'll need#
- Interest in photography, videography, video editing, content creation, gaming, or esports.
- Familiarity with creative software like Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, or Premiere Pro.
- Basic understanding of photography and video composition.
- Comfort working with cameras or a desire to learn how to use the equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple creative assignments.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other student roles and staff.
- Comfort receiving feedback and iterating on your creative work.
- Availability to attend some evening or weekend events as needed.
- A portfolio or examples of previous work is preferred but not required.
- Previous esports experience is helpful but not required.
Location & details#
- Location: San Francisco, California.
- Schedule: Between 5 and 20 hours per week.
- Compensation: $19.61 per hour.
- Employment type: Part-time, Federal Work Study.
