About the role#
The Department of Agricultural Communications at Purdue University is looking for a student to help with photography and visual content production. You will work directly with the staff photographer to support marketing and storytelling efforts. This position focuses on digital asset management, photo editing, and on-site shoot assistance.
What you'll do#
- Edit photos by adjusting exposure, color, and cropping.
- Export, resize, name, and organize image files.
- Maintain photo archives and digital assets.
- Prepare images for internal clients and communications partners.
- Organize digital asset management systems and update Google Maps imagery.
- Assist the photographer with shoots, including portraits, events, research, and agriculture assignments.
- Handle equipment setup, breakdown, and transport for various assignments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student at the Purdue West Lafayette campus.
- Experience with digital asset management systems, including meta tags and database uploads.
- Ability to operate DSLR or mirrorless cameras in manual mode by adjusting ISO, aperture, and shutter speed.
- Foundational skills in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
- Experience setting up and safely transporting studio lighting, backdrops, and lenses.
