About the role#
American Structurepoint is hiring a Construction Solutions Intern for the summer of 2027 in Akron, Ohio. This full-time, paid internship provides hands-on field experience with construction inspection, material testing, and project documentation. You will work on real infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, and utility systems.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate with contractors, designers, utility companies, and residents to keep projects moving.
- Perform material testing for asphalt, concrete, aggregates, and soils.
- Visit construction sites to observe daily activities, document progress, and monitor project status.
- Use software including Microsoft Office, Appia, SiteManager, and BlueBeam to organize and report project data.
- Assist the team with daily reports, plan reviews, and project meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current student majoring in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Land Surveying, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Valid driver's license for travel between the office and project sites.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
