About the role#
American Structurepoint is seeking a Utility Infrastructure Intern for our Akron, Ohio office during the Summer 2027 term. You will work alongside engineers on water and stormwater projects. This role involves a mix of office tasks and field visits to support actual design work and construction activities. You will receive mentorship and training while contributing to community infrastructure.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with Project Managers and the Ohio Department of Public Works team to research data and records.
- Use Geographic Information Systems (GIS), client databases, and historic records to gather project information.
- Gain insight into the consultant role and learn how to deliver professional results in a client-focused environment.
- Conduct research and summarize your findings.
- Prepare permit applications, technical exhibits, design drawings, and inspection records.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree program for Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Engineering, Land Surveying, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- A reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver's license for travel to project sites.
- A strong work ethic and effective communication skills.
- An eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
