About the role#
American Structurepoint is seeking a Road Engineering Intern for our summer 2027 program in Indianapolis. You will join our Road Group to work on transportation projects for local cities, towns, counties, and INDOT. This role involves working within a team on diverse projects ranging from roundabouts and urban street reconstructions to large interstate and interchange designs. While most work occurs in the office, you will have opportunities for occasional site visits.
What you'll do#
- Perform design calculations, roadway layouts, and drainage analysis.
- Create construction plan sets using MicroStation OpenRoads Designer.
- Develop quantity takeoffs and construction cost estimates.
- Gain hands-on experience with 3D modeling.
- Assist with general project documentation and design tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Transportation, Hydraulics, or related degree program.
- Reliable transportation to and from the office.
- Strong work ethic and an eagerness to learn new skills.
- A collaborative mindset for working within a team environment.
