About the role#
American Structurepoint is seeking a Road Engineering Intern for our summer 2027 program in Fort Wayne. You will join our Road Group to assist with transportation projects for INDOT, local cities, and counties. This role involves working on a variety of infrastructure, from roundabouts and urban streets to major interstate projects. Most of your work happens in the office, though you may attend occasional site visits.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to roadway design through calculations, layouts, and drainage analysis.
- Create construction plan sets using MicroStation OpenRoads Designer.
- Assist with quantity takeoffs and prepare design documentation.
- Develop construction cost estimates for various projects.
- Gain hands-on experience with 3D modeling and software tools including Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.
What you'll need#
- Current student majoring in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Transportation, Hydraulics, or a related program.
- Reliable transportation to and from the office.
- Strong work ethic and a collaborative mindset.
- Eagerness to learn and willingness to take on new challenges.
