About the role#
The Human Risk Management team works to strengthen the cybersecurity culture at American National. This internship focuses on supporting awareness, training, and risk reduction initiatives. You will contribute to programs that help employees make informed cybersecurity decisions while gaining experience in communications, education, analytics, and awareness strategies. This is a full-time, paid summer position.
What you'll do#
- Assist with cybersecurity awareness campaigns and employee engagement initiatives.
- Support phishing simulations and related awareness activities.
- Create educational materials, communications, and training content.
- Analyze program metrics and develop reports to measure effectiveness.
- Assist with content development and program improvement efforts.
- Participate in team meetings, collaborative projects, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Contribute to initiatives that promote positive cybersecurity behaviors across the organization.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university with junior standing or higher.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Communications, Psychology, Business, Information Technology, Marketing, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex information into simple, business-friendly language.
- Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, presentation, and public speaking.
- Project and task management skills with an interest in human behavior and decision-making.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Location & details#
- Location: Houston, Texas (On-site).
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 24 to August 6).
- Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
