About the role#
The Investment Accounting team at American National manages the accurate reporting of investment activity under GAAP and statutory standards. As an intern, you will work alongside experienced professionals on reporting, reconciliations, and control activities. What you'll do#
- Support the completion of monthly and quarterly accounting and regulatory reports.
- Prepare and validate financial reports and account reconciliations.
- Research investment transactions and analyze holdings data.
- Maintain documentation and organize audit workpapers.
- Review data quality and provide support for financial reporting controls.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university, with junior standing or higher by the start of the internship.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Pursuit of a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and see projects through to completion.
- Clear communication and attention to detail.
- An interest in investments, accounting, financial reporting, and future opportunities with the team.

- This internship is based in Houston, Texas.
- The role is on-site and full-time, requiring 37.5 hours per week.
- The program runs during the Summer 2027 term.
