About the role#
This internship offers a chance to work with the Design team on real engineering projects. You will gain hands-on experience while supporting the development and testing of our products throughout the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Organize and update drawings, specifications, and agency standards.
- Redesign components to reduce costs and improve assembly efficiency.
- Adapt existing concepts for new machine sizes.
- Create detailed 3D models and work alongside CAD designers.
- Support lab builds of full-size prototypes and test fit manufactured parts.
- Procure new parts and troubleshoot design issues.
- Participate in field testing and external lab evaluations.
- Learn the change notification system and Bill of Materials (BOM) processes.
- Assist in the introduction of new designs to the manufacturing floor.
- Anticipate assembly concerns during the design process.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, or a related field.
- Experience with 3D modeling in Creo or SolidWorks.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work well within a team.
- Physical ability to sit for extended periods, stand, use manual dexterity, stoop, bend, and perform minimal lifting.
