About the role#
Join our design team as a Mechanical Engineer Co-op. This position involves working on real-world engineering projects, providing support to our design team, and gaining hands-on experience in the machinery manufacturing industry. You will work on tasks ranging from new tumbler dryer development to sustaining engineering projects that improve existing product lines.
What you'll do#
- Organize and update drawings, specifications, and agency standards.
- Redesign components to reduce costs and improve assembly efficiency.
- Create detailed 3D models and assist in the introduction of new designs.
- Participate in the product development system, including part design and market launch activities.
- Procure new parts, test fit manufactured components in the lab, and troubleshoot design issues.
- Learn and use the change notification system and Bill of Materials.
- Assist with field and external lab testing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, or a related field.
- Experience with 3D modeling using Creo or SolidWorks.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to perform tasks such as sitting for extended periods, standing, and minimal lifting.
