About the role#
This is a developmental internship focused on supporting current product modifications and improvements. You will contribute to the design and development of new ideas for future products. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, scientists, operations, procurement, and marketing personnel.
What you'll do#
- Support and troubleshoot manufacturing, quality, and supply chain issues.
- Design solutions that are reliable, serviceable, and manufacturable using Siemens NX software.
- Contribute to the design and development of complex scientific instrumentation.
- Create and modify detail drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of materials for complex systems.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma.
- Active enrollment in an accredited college or university with at least two years of study in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
- Working knowledge of 3-D modeling software.
- General knowledge of mechanical engineering design principles and methods.
- Familiarity with manufacturing techniques, such as milling, turning, welding, 3D printing, and sheet metal forming.
- Ability to work well in cross-functional teams and strong interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
- Preferred: Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis for thermal or structural studies and previous experience with high precision design.

- Location: East Syracuse, New York.
- Modality: On-site.
- Employment: Full-time intern.
- Compensation: $18.00 to $26.00 per hour.
- Reliable transportation is required as the facility is not located near a bus route.
