About the role#
This internship supports the Industrial Engineering and Lean Team in implementing improvements across manufacturing and business operations. You will gain practical experience in lean methodology and problem-solving while working with cross-functional teams. The role requires working in a clean room environment, which involves following specific protocols and wearing required personal protective equipment.
What you'll do#
- Implement 6S and visual factory initiatives.
- Conduct process observations and time studies.
- Assist with value stream mapping and documenting current state flows.
- Participate in kaizen events.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements.
- Assist with planning for facility layout changes.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or advanced degree program in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD.
- A genuine interest in lean manufacturing.
- Previous internship, co-op, or work experience is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: East Syracuse, New York.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $18.00 to $26.00 per hour.
- Availability: Fall 2026, Winter 2027, Summer 2027, Fall 2027, or Winter 2028.
- Note: Reliable transportation is required as the facility is not accessible by public transit.
