About the role#
This internship supports the Industrial Engineering and Lean team in East Syracuse. You will help implement continuous improvements across our manufacturing and business operations. This role focuses on lean methodology projects and requires working with cross-functional teams to boost operational efficiency. You must be able to work in a clean room environment and follow all safety protocols, including wearing required personal protective equipment.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.
- Conduct time studies and process observations.
- Assist with facility layout planning.
- Implement 6S and visual factory initiatives.
- Document current state flows through value stream mapping.
- Participate in kaizen events.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or advanced degree program for Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD.
- A genuine interest in lean manufacturing.
- Previous work or internship experience is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: East Syracuse, New York.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time.
- Availability: We are hiring for terms between Fall 2026 and Fall 2027. Double-block availability is preferred.
- Compensation: $18.00 to $26.00 per hour.
- Requirements: Reliable transportation is necessary as the facility is not accessible by public transit.
