About the role#
We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer Co-op to join the BOSS Snowplow division in Iron Mountain, Michigan. This is a full-time, paid position for students available from January 2027 through August 2027. You will work on-site to support our product development team.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the design, prototyping, and development of new products and improvements to existing ones.
- Conduct tests, collect data, and analyze results for new or current product lines.
- Design test fixtures as needed for the development process.
- Identify and solve problems within the Product Development Lab.
- Work alongside operations engineers to improve product quality and reduce costs.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with 3D CAD software, specifically Creo Parametric if possible.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes like welding, metal cutting, forming, painting, and assembly.
- Understanding of Engineering Mechanics, Strength of Materials, and Lean Manufacturing.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills to manage projects and gather information.
- Ability to handle multiple projects at once.
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills are preferred, as is a basic understanding of hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Creo.

- Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour, based on your current level of college completion.
