About the role#
We are looking for a Technical Writer Intern to join our Sub-Assembly team in Manitowoc. This role focuses on documenting manufacturing processes and managing performance data. You will work directly with team leads and production staff to ensure our standard work is accurate and our digital tools are effective.
What you'll do#
- Update standard work documents to match current shop floor practices.
- Organize and revise technical documentation for clarity and usability.
- Assist with updating digital data used to track key performance indicators.
- Learn how we collect and display operational data to support manufacturing.
- Create materials to help train team members on interpreting KPI data.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to gather process details.
- Identify ways to improve our current documentation and data tools.
- Support various Sub-Assembly projects as they arise.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Engineering degree program, preferably Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical information to different audiences.
- Interest in manufacturing operations, process documentation, and production data.
- High attention to detail and ability to organize information.
- Comfort using digital tools and spreadsheets.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.
- A positive approach to learning and supporting new processes.
